Motoe Sasaki

Associate Professor,

Hosei University 

 

Motoe Sasaki is an associate professor in the Faculty of Cultural Communication at Hosei University in Tokyo, Japan. She published her first monograph, Redemption and Revolution: American and Chinese New Women in the Early Twentieth Century from Cornell University Press in 2016. She has also published in The Journal of Colonialism and Colonial History, The Japanese Journal of American Studies, among others. She is currently working on gendered aspects of religion and social movements in turn of the century New York City and reexamining the characteristics of the liberal public sphere in the early twentieth century United States from the perspectives of gender and religion.
