Eiichiro Azuma

Eiichiro Azuma is Alan Charles Kors Term Chair Associate Professor of History and Asian American Studies at University of Pennsylvania.  He is author of Between Two Empires: Race, History, and Transnationalism in Japanese America (Oxford 2005), and coeditor of Yuji Ichioka, Before Internment: Essays in Prewar Japanese American History (Stanford 2006) and the Oxford Handbook of Asian American History (Oxford 2016).  The first two books have been translated into Japanese.  Azuma has also published numerous peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in edited anthologies.  Some of his works appeared in the Journal of American History, Pacific Historical Review, and Journal of Asian Studies, among others.  He has served on the editorial board of the Journal of American Ethnic History, Journal of Asian American Studies, and Pacific Historical Review.  He is also a coeditor for the University of Illinois’ book series titled “Asian American Experiences.”
